Swiss roll/roll cake is basically of two types, sponge and moist. It can be served in two ways as a cake and a dessert item with a combination of butter cream, fruit filling, and chocolate ganache. The base of Swiss roll/roll cake is usually baked fairly thinly for ease of rolling, and some special techniques enhance the beauty of the roll cake.
